In this video, I give you a look at the Sawtooth Canyon BLM campground 17 miles south the Barstow California. You’ll see the campsites, surrounding scenery and rock climbers.
Sawtooth Canyon is a free 16 site campground located in the barren high
desert country. The attraction is old volcanic rock outcroppings.
We spent three days here and enjoyed a couple of nature hikes to the canyon rim offering impressive views of the surrounding countryside.
If you can snag a spot in this small campground, you can stay two weeks for free. No services by the sites do have a picnic table on cement slabs and great fire pits.
The downside is it can get busy and noisy with rock climbers, but they generally leave after dark and things are quiet.
