In this video, we stop off one of our favorite rest stops along the northern California coast. Mild fall day November 16th, 2018
False Klamath Cove is located on highway 101 about 15 miles south of Crescent City, CA.
It’s a pretty spot to go for a beach walk, watch the waves roll in, explore tide pools and view wildlife. In the past, we have seen playful otters in the nearby lagoon.
This time we a couple of elephant seals, but unfortunately, they appeared dead even though posted signs said they were merely resting and molting. The sign warned to stay back 150 feet so it was hard to tell but the 30X zoom on my camcorder made their condition clear. 🙁
On a happier note, we also saw some cute little Oyster Catchers feeding on the rocks offshore.
Next up the Redwoods and some viewing of Roosevelt Elk, stay tuned. Cheers, Ray

Great pictures Ray. Is that your new camera equipment you got a while ago? Very smooth, especially as you were walking and taking. Great weather, I am stuck in Ohio this year and winter is on us! Maybe next year? It is great following your adventures! Great travels and enjoy!

Yes, it’s the new camcorder, has excellent optical stabilization system and better sound now that I can use an external microphone. 🙂
