KeymasterNot totally finished yet, but had the areas I was most worried about taped up. Put together a post and video on my adventures on the roof. 🙂 Feeling much better about it’s waterproofing now.

Wicked awesome! Seems like it would be good stuff for emergency patches for plumbing as well.

ParticipantVery well done Ray. Watched the video and paused and rewind it several times to get a good understanding of your work. Man how you take the fear out of this stuff.
Got my EMS-HW50C surge protector. Cotton pickin things manufactured just 45 miles from here. I have the receptacle on the rear of cougar. I removed it and bought a new piece of #6 wire and put it in receptacle so I’m using the main wire from panel for out side and new to in side of protector. See where you have to be careful and place sensors with arrow in right direction too. More less follow instructions and its a breeze. Well until next time and thanks again.

ParticipantSee where they have 3″ and 4″ tape. Which would be better or would one work better on slide-outs better than the other.

I’d go with the 4″ Rush, you can always cut it shorter if need be. I found it was a nice width to deal with on my seams, especially if I was covering over some original Dicor sealant.

ParticipantI’m sooo glad you posted this. I need to do the very same thing to my seams on my roof. I have a leak and am not sure where it’s coming from (I’m real suspicious of the taillight assembly though) so I was going to re-seal every seam including around the tail and marker lights. I was afraid I would have to remove years of old sealant to get to the roof again. Now I can clean it up and tape over it. I like the water channel for the A/C too.

ParticipantWe have a Cougar too. While on one of our first trips we seen where AC was running water off the back. Climb up later and seen where water was collecting in the corners. Got on Internet looking for help and that’s when we found Ray’s Love You RV. Still under warranty I took the RV to CW and got my laptop out and showed how Ray had fixed the problem. Well camping world did like Ray had shown. Ray has been a life saver for us with his video’s.

ParticipantI just used the tape when I replaced my skylight, the tape is amazing. As Ray said the 4inch tape is good to work with and will cover what you want.

ParticipantFinding this info is perfect timing with all the rain, past and approaching, here in SW Texas.. It showed me a couple minor leaks, but want to avoid any kind of water where it shouldn’t be.

Hi Jody, it is definitely worth being proactive on any leaks as they can lead to very expensive repairs. Check out the repair RVHH member Eddie needed to do to his fifth wheel after a leak in the rear corner. – http://rvhappyhour.com/members/eddie/media/1318/
Luckily he was able to do the repairs himself.
Cheers Ray

ParticipantRay after 1 year are you still happy with eternabond? I am getting tired of worrying about caulking all the time…

Yup. I just was doing a roof wash the other day and inspected all the tape and it looks as good as the day I put it down. :good:
