So I’ve heard of Quartzite- and seems like a not bad place to stay.. is there over crowding and dogs running and such ? What about Slab City? Little more homeless crowd yes?

Other areas like these? Been there and done that and what did you think of these places and would you go back? Other places to recommend with a similar type crowd? either in Arizona or California?

Quartzsite can be as crowded or as uncrowded as you choose, there is tons and tons of land to camp on. You get to pick your own spot. I never really seen any problem of dogs running wild.
For some good info and boondocking spots down there check out the winter archive posts in @SteveandDianne Steve and Dianne’s blog They spend a good deal of time around Quartzsite. http://steveanddiannesmostexcellentadventure.blogspot.ca/

Another area I really like is right around the town of Borrego Springs, CA Beautiful scenery and very laid back. There are a few posts on my blog.

As always Ray, very useful info! thank you :good:

Although their blog photos are so tiny.. and not sure where their Quartzite links are in their blog- so if anyone can help. please send over the direct link.

On the right hand side of the blog find a winter month and click its link, for instance here is January 2014
    http://steveanddiannesmostexcellentadventure.blogspot.ca/2014_01_01_archive.html
Then along the right side you’ll see all the links to posts posted in that month while they stayed in Quartzsite. To make the photos bigger just click on them.

They have lots of photos so you should be able to get a good sense of the place. 🙂

It’s a decent day of driving in the RV, maybe 6 hours or so if you stop for lunch, around 250 miles. Also quite hilly as you drive through the mountains and then down into the valley where Scottsdale is.
