We are going on our first trip Wednesday, even though we’ve spent several nights in our 5er in the driveway. The campground is a state run place, maybe 25 miles from home. We have 2 nights reserved, but may stay a third if things go well. We’ll be close enough to run home if we need something crucial.

Wish us luck, and come join us if you’d like, Weston Bend State Park.

👌, I’ll make a point to snap some pics, and probably will do a campground review.😀

Hope for a really great time on the shakedown run. We would consider joining you as you are approx. 4 hours from us here in Southeastern Iowa.  I still have a couple things to fix yet from our shakedown trip we took a couple weeks ago.    But who knows, I seen that there are several BBQ contests in your area with lots of camping available so maybe we can still meet sometime. Good Luck  :good:

My mom and stepdad came over and we toured a distillery nearby, it was a lot of fun. Holladay DistilleryIt’s very old, from the 1800’s. They gave samples after the tour, very tasty!

We took our dogs along, this is Mollly. (Yes, her name has 3 l’s. My sister made her tag and spelled it that way, so that’s how it is) The park has a dog park, an off leash play area. I don’t think it gets used much, but Mollly enjoyed it. I didn’t get a pic of our old beagle.

That looks like you had so much fun.  And doesn’t sound like you had any problems.

Good looking rig, is that a coachmen? It looks like my 2001 coachmen royal.

@Slim- No problems while camping, but a couple things when we got home. Taking the 5er off the truck, I dropped the legs too low, they were too long to level. Our driveway is sloped and we have to lower the nose almost to the ground. Ended up putting the truck under it again and making the legs shorter. That worked, but in using the landing gear so much, we blew a fuse or something. Now the switches won’t work. I needed to learn how to work things manually, and learn I did! After leveling and putting the slides out manually, I started troubleshooting. I found the remote control works the pumps and motors, just the switches aren’t working.

Then we started cleaning the water system. See post HERE.

@Mike-Thanks. Its a Montana Mountaineer 347THT by Keystone, 2010 year.
