In this video, Anne and I take a drive down the coast a half hours drive from where we are camped at Thunderbird RV Park in Campbell River to visit Miracle Beach Park.

Miracle Beach is home to gorgeous ocean views and a remarkable rocky/sandy driftwood-strewn beachscape chock full of life. As the tide goes out, several sandbars are exposed, and numerous tide pools crop up to explore. The area is home to a multitude of seabirds. In the distance, there’s a panoramic view of the jagged BC coastal mountains. On calm days the blue sky reflects off the shimmering ocean waters. A spectacular scene!

Inland from the beach is a beautiful coastal forest including a large campground. Find more information at the BC Provincial Parks Website – http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/miracle_bch/

Anne has just purchased a new 90mm macro lens for her Sony mirrorless camera and was eager to test it out. Miracle Beach is loaded with things to shoot. While she spent time engrossed in photography I roamed the beach with my new Sony AX53 camcorder gathering footage of the fantastic scene.

It was a perfect mid-September day, calm and relaxed. After a few hours at Miracle Beach, we headed back stopping off at a few spots along the way. Included in the video are a stroll through Oyster Bay Shoreline Park, a look at the chainsaw carving at Frank James Park, plus stop at the BIg Rock and the 50th Parallel.
